GOD

PRAYER LETTER

Nov 08 2017

Time to go

God named Ishmael ‘God hears’ before he was born. Years later, God heard Ishmael’s cry when he was perishing in the wilderness and opened his mother’s eyes to see a spring of water from which she gave him drink – and he lived! Islam claims Ishmael as a spiritual forefather. Today’s Muslims are in the wilderness perishing and crying out for living water. Let the Church pray to the Father to reveal the well of living water, Jesus, so they might live!
Time to go

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”(Lk 10:2)

We’re all aware that hundreds of young men and women have left their homes in the West and gone to Syria for various reasons – to join ISIS, to fight with the Kurds against ISIS, to marry fighters, to do humanitarian work. Currently in the news is the story of “Jihadi Jack”, Jack Letts, who converted to Islam as a teenager in Oxford England, dropped out of school, went to Kuwait in 2014 to learn Arabic, then entered Syria. No one is sure what he did next. His parents say he “stupidly went to see for himself what was going on” and ended up opposing ISIS; others are convinced he joined ISIS. Kurdish militia captured him in May, but he hasn’t been heard from since his last call from prison July 8. His parents are petitioning the Canadian government to bring him here (his father is Canadian) and put him on trial so he can “speak for himself”.

On the same day I learned about Jack Letts, I read a prophetic word from October 24 in a prayer letter I’ve been receiving weekly from Jerusalem for about 15 years and know to be reliable. It was in the context of Islam’s dominion being shaken and about a vision of harvest fields springing up ready for harvest all across the Middle East – but no one was gathering the harvest. Then scrolls appeared with the words, “Thrust forth the labourers into the harvest!” written on them. The letter concludes, “There was a strong sense of the urgency of the hour as we prayed into this vision. It is time to pray for the “Lord of the Harvest to thrust forth the labourers into the Harvest”.

Perhaps this word has arrived at this time because ISIS’ “capital,” Raqqa, has fallen and there is now access to places where unspeakable evil has been perpetrated.  The region once under ISIS’ control is now up for grabs. People are desperate for hope, light and truth.

In the past few months, I’ve met two people God is clearly, unexpectedly, calling into ministry to Muslims. How many more are there? Does He have a harvesting crew ready to go? Not to “stupidly go to see for [themselves] what is going on” but to respond to a call and commission from the Lord to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28:19)? Does He have champions in reserve who won’t speak for themselves, but speak for Him? I believe that if God asks us to pray earnestly for this, He has already prepared the answer and wants us to PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens).

Thrust = push (someone or something) with force or sudden strength in the specified direction

Earnestly, urgently, ask the Lord to thrust forth the labourers into the harvest in the Middle East.

Pray the enemy will not be able to block, distract, delay or hinder the labourers from hearing the call and going.

Pray the labourers will not wait for others to prepare things for them.  Pray they will take the little they have, move forward in faith, and let the Lord multiply it.

Declare over them, “The time of waiting is over! It’s time to go!”
