God named Ishmael ‘God hears’ before he was born. Years later, God heard Ishmael’s cry when he was perishing in the wilderness and opened his mother’s eyes to see a spring of water from which she gave him drink – and he lived!
Islam claims Ishmael as a spiritual forefather. Today’s Muslims are in the wilderness perishing and crying out for living water. Let the Church pray to the Father to reveal the well of living water, Jesus, so they might live!
A Good News update
Dear Praying Friends,
I want to share this encouraging report with you. This year, the Christian celebration of Pentecost coincided with the Jewish observance of Shavuot. Shavuot was originally a harvest festival that commemorated the giving of the Mosaic law on Sinai. It was during this festival that Jesus’ disciples gathered in Jerusalem praying in one accord and the Holy Spirit was poured out on them (Acts 2).
On Saturday, I live-streamed a celebration of Pentecost (Shavuot) from the center of Jerusalem where the Holy Spirit was originally poured out. A large group of believing Jews, Arabs and various internationals worshipped God and prayed for Holy Spirit revival throughout the world to fulfill the Joel 2 prophecy that the apostle Peter invoked.
Something that really touched my heart was a prayer prayed by a Jew and an Arab for the descendants of Ishmael that went like this (my paraphrase): “The Father is calling you home. Come home! . Islam is not your place. Your place is in the house. The door is open to you. Welcome back into the tents of Abraham.” Blessing was then released from Israel to all the Arabs because in Yeshua’s cross, the curse becomes a blessing. Hosea 6:1-3 was declared.
Jews and Arabs praying together in Jerusalem to bless Muslims with Jesus’ salvation is not normal. It’s supernatural! Take heart that even as we’re praying regularly for Muslims, and as Christians around the globe pray for Muslims during Ramadan, Almighty God is powerfully working to accomplish His purposes, including answering Jesus’ John 17:20-23 prayer that His followers may be brought into complete unity.
Persevere in prayer with hope! By faith and patience we inherit the promises of God (Heb 6:12).
Every blessing as you pray in power,
